Beth Kizer

We are highlighting some of the great people involved in helping those with Mental Health issues.
Today the spotlight is on Beth Kizer of Century Health. She has been a caseworker for them for 14 years. Her duties entail evaluating the needs of her clients and facilitating whatever it takes to assist them. This can range from driving them to the grocery store, library or doctor, filling out applications, to just giving an listening ear to those who feel alone and afraid. Beth tries to remove barriers that might impede their recovery such as homelessness, jobless, transportation and more. They serve all of Hancock county.
She has 40 plus clients and most of them are long-term so she can establish a relationship with them. Her goal is “they can always get better!” Beth says her job is “interesting, every day is different and it keeps you on your toes. I have found my niche!”
She has been married to fellow case worker Joe for five years and they have a three and a half year old son. They have one dog.
Her role models were her parents who still work in their 70’s. Mom is “very spiritual and strong and they are always there for advice.”
She follows the invocation, “Get me through the day. You never know what faces you. “
