Sharinda Welton

Sharinda Welton is a full-time cheerleader for the University of Findlay.
Officially she is the Director of Student Activities, Commuter Services and Leadership Development. Unofficially she is a bright spirit that leads, guides, motivates her students in any way possible to inspire them and get them to be successful. When she was a child she wanted to have babies from all over the world. In her role at the University she lives that reality as her students come from all over the globe. She has been at the U of F for 16 years. She loves her campus and students and the culture, ethnicity and energy they bring.
She is well educated for her position. She has an Associates degree from Central Bible College, a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Education-Leadership Development from Findlay.
She is a native Findlayite and has had the opportunity to experience the world. She was involved with FFE at Findlay high school and later took her talents on the road with an Improv Troupe based in Los Angeles that traveled to a different city every week and a different sate every month. They performed in schools, churches, prisons and a variety of other venues. When she returned to Findlay she took a position with Red Cross for five years a the Director of Health and Safety Services. It was from connections made here that she heard of the current position she holds.
When not supporting students which some times of year is a 24/7 activity, she is redoing her home, hikes, bikes, is an avid photographer, does some writing, and still doing improv and singing when she can.
She has a rescue dog named Mishka who keeps her company with a turtle named Turtilini.
Sharinda lives by the mantra, “You are never promised the next minute.”
She talks dearly about Earth Angels who have blessed her life whether fleeting or long term. “They are all around us if we just look for them.”
