Brian White

Hey Findlayites!! In honor of this Saturday National Honor a Peace Officer day, we highlight another one of Findlay’s finest, Officer Brian White. He has been a member of the force for 11 and 1/2 years and goes above and beyond his normal patrol duties with a variety of jobs he has volunteered for on the force. First, he is the first man to hit the door on our ERT (SWAT) team and trains on his days off. He is a training officer for one of the four new officers we just signed on last month. And last but not least he is a Crisis Intervention Officer specially trained to handle cases of mental illness and diffuse the situation to avoid incarceration and get treatment instead. On a daily basis he and fellow officers handle traffic incidents, domestic situations, ongoing violations and public relations. Wow.

Brian is a graduate of Bluffton University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He received his police training at the Sandusky Police Academy.

Brian is married to Teresa and they celebrate their 10 year anniversary tomorrow!! They are watched over in their home by five cats that rule the house.

When not being a peace officer (and remember they are sworn for 24/7 alertness), he volunteers for Walk a Mile, Shop with a Cop and serving with fellow officers in the Fraternal Order of Police where there is a sense of belonging.

His motto which he carries onto the job is “To treat others as you would wish to be treated.”

His role model is his grandfather Victor Kretz who is a retired Navy veteran, who served in WWII. He left high school to serve and just last year went back and earned his high school diploma with Brian at his side.
