Heather Schalk has the best job in the world! She oversees 230 plus people who love to come to work and do so for free! She is the manager of Volunteer Services for the Blanchard Valley Healthcare facilities here and in Bluffton. Her volunteers provide a great service and act as liaisons between the patients and staff. Some of their duties include greeting people, giving directions, visiting patients, putting together baby bags and manning the gift shop. All out of the goodness of their hearts!
Heather has been at BVH for three years. She is a proud graduate of the University of Findlay with a degree in Business Management. She had previously earned an associates degree in travel and tourism from Hocking College and worked with a number of famous clients during her tenure in that field.
She is married to Craig and they have a seven year old daughter, an 18 month old son and a four month old son. She keeps in shape by running and has participated in numerous 5K runs. She also coaches softball and high school volleyball.
Her motto is to “Keep smiling!”
Her mother has always been her role model as “she always took everything in stride, with a calm demeanor and a positive outlook.”
