Lorie Thomas

Doctor Lorie Thomas is a OB/GYN physician at Eastern Woods Women’s and Children Center and is a world recognized pioneer of robotic surgery. She is currently rated 8th in the world for the number of procedures she has performed with “Eddie” the robot. In 2010 she was the driving force behind the Blanchard Valley Health system purchasing a multi-million dollar robot to perform delicate surgeries. Dr. Thomas is very skilled and prefers the robotic procedures as they “have more precise incisions, less complications and quicker recovery than a standard surgery.”

Raised in Grafton, Ohio, she earned her medical degree at Ohio University in Athens. She served her residency at St. Vincent’s in Toledo. It was as student in medical school where she assisted in the birth of a baby that she became hooked on the specialty. She moved to the Findlay area 18 years ago joining Dr. Weingate’s practice.

Today she serves primarily as a gynecologist and provides care for all facets of women’s needs. She is a renown surgeon and receives patient referrals from all around the region. Dr. Thomas is also known for her special patient care as she spends time to make the women she treats feel comfortable. In medical school she was taught, “If you listen to the patient they will tell you exactly what is wrong.”

She is close to her mom, dad and sister. She has a son who is a freshman at Findlay High School. When she sets aside her stethoscope she likes to travel and scrapbook.

Her role model was her partner Dr. Weingate who “worked countless hours, was always there for the patient and very family oriented.”

She loves Findlay for it’s small town feel yet it has so much to offer.
