Bethany Ward

NURSES WEEK, for those in the trenches.
Bethany Ward first became a RN 23 years ago through Owens. She has recently received her BSN from Ohio Northern.

Her love and long term assignment is as a surgery nurse. Her favorite procedures are orthopedic but Bethany has earned the classification of a Specialty nurse. She is a first assistant to the surgeon and can assist with sutures, closing up a incision and assist in C-sections. She is on a surgery team and in any given day can see and assist in a variety of surgeries. Bethany loves the people she cares for and that she works with. “When things are falling apart and with a team effort we can put it all back together is very rewarding.”

Born and raised here in Findlay she graduated from Liberty Benton in 1989. Bethany married her sweetheart 20 years ago and they have two children. She lives close to her parents on the same farm land plot. She is very busy away from the hospital following her kids in soccer and basketball, serving at Trinity Lutheran church in a variety of positions and hanging out with her parents. She loves the outdoors and walks and runs with her border collie Piper.

Her parents were her example growing up, very frugal, raised a variety of animals and taught her and her two brothers to live off the land.

“You reap what you sew. Do right and good things will happen. You can only control so much then give it to God.” are her parting words to us.
