Emily Sizemore

This amazing nurse is one of the first to greet new Humans of Findlay as they arrive into the world.

Emily Sizemore has been at BVH for 9 years. A graduate of Owens College with an RN degree she has been one of the OB nurses present for approximately 2000 births in her 9 year tenure.
She does her best to see the little ones get a good start on life. She cares for the mom or baby based on the delivery.

She loves all facets of the delivery room and the especially when she hands the baby to the father for the first time. “The change in the father’s eyes when handed his baby is precious.” “Birth is an event that has an impact on the whole family.”

She was on hand for the birth of Findlay’s first triplet delivery at BVH. There is a somber side, when there is a difficulty in delivery and an infant or mother does not survive the delivery. It is rare but very difficult to deal with.

Emily is a native Findlayite and has two dogs and cat, Ben, Bailey and Tommy who share a home with her.
She also plays the piano and trumpet.

She is passionate about her other ventures as well as OB work, She has been on several missions to Haiti with her church First Nazarene, twice to build churches. She has also been three times on medical missions which she enjoys as she uses all facets of nursing and has to think how to do the most with the least amount of supplies. It is a challenge she enjoys.

She has followed in the footsteps of her aunt Barb who was a nurse and “inspired me.”

Emily’s scripture of choice is John 16:33 “In me you have peace.”
