Barbara Lockard
We were able to slow down a very busy lady for a few minutes at the University of Findlay and get a little bit of her story.
Barbara Lockard is the Strategic Communication Coordinator and oversees the internal communications on the intranet and news letter for 560 full time employees and countless adjuncts and part time employees. She has been in this position for two years and loves the diversity of the campus and that the U of F is such a nice place to work.
Prior to this position Barbara was in public relations with BVH Health Systems.
Barbara has been married for 30 years to Jerry and they have two children, John and Sarah and one grandbaby.
In her time away from the campus Barbara is a busy woman. She is on the Findlay City School Board, a realtor with Century 21 and is working on her second Masters degree. She earned a BBA in Business Administration at Tiffin and Masters in Educational Technology at UF.
She loves to ride horses English style, doing dog agility with her lab, kayaking and reading. She has two furry companions named Tybee and Maddie.
One of her role models is President Jimmy Carter and the work he has done for human rights since he left office.
She has a great motto, “Semper silex navicula” which interprets “Always Rock the Boat.”
