John Richards
John Richards is your average “everyman”.
What makes him different is what he does everyday to fulfill a promise made to his mother whom he lost to cancer in 2013. Each and everyday he makes it a goal to make someone he does not know smile. He looks for someone with a need and tries to fill that need. It has ranged from paying for groceries for a young mother in Wal-Mart to giving a car to a woman who needed transportation. He says his reward is “the smile and reaction, the simple thanks.”
John lives a simple life, works in a factory on the third shift and is not affluent. He lives within his means and it gives him excess to share with others. He was nominated by a group of co-workers as they see him quietly live the life without seeking recognition.
He has two brothers and a sister and he has seven children. He spends his free time when not helping others with his children who are active in karate, baton twirling and gymnastics.
He lives the creed, “God will provide everything I need, so I can provide for others.”
His mother was a very giving person and an inspiration to John.
