Judy Reading

This professional ballerina has been around the world showcasing her dancing talents. She has been in dance companies in New York, Europe, Boston and others but her husbands job with Cooper brought Judy Reading to Findlay 10 years ago and she is very happy having found her niche of teaching younger dancers the skills of ballet.
She is the mastermind behind the “Chance to Dance Foundation” which provides gifted dance students with dance lessons, pointe shoes, costumes, summer trips to other cities and also brings in professionals from around the world to teach them in the summer. The Community Foundation and Cooper Tire have been instrumental in providing funding for this program. North West Orthopedics also supports her with a physical therapist at practices and performances.
On July 11th some of her advanced students will perform at the “Ballet on Broadway” event. There will be a professional dance troupe showcased so people can see fine ballet being brought to Findlay.
Judy started dancing when she was eight and it taught her focus and discipline. “The experience made me who I am today.” She passes this on to her 80 students. She is proud of her “mature, disciplined, focused and smart students!”
She is married to Ed Reading who is the President of the Board of the Marathon Arts Center. They have a golden-doodle dog named Pokie. When not teaching she and Ed like to get away to a summer cabin in Michigan or a vacation home in Naples Florida.
