Cindy Morehead

Cindy Morehead rode literally into our community in 1976 when Dale Wilkinson hired her to help coach at the University of Findlay Western Equestrian center. She had been here showing her skills on a cutting horse and he was impressed with her abilities.
She turned that into a lifelong experience retiring this past semester as head coach after over 40 years of coaching her teams to four National Championships. She wears her rings proudly but attributes it all to the team work and attitudes of her riders. She finished on a high note with this years team finishing as Reserve National Champions. She will continue to assist with summer camps at the center.
Cindy came to us from New Hampshire and West Virginia and has been riding since she was nine years old. She has a daughter who has followed in her footsteps and she plans to help her daughter train her students.
In retirement she plans to spend time relaxing, hanging with her pup Riley and riding her Harley Davidson trike.
Her advice to her students was always, “Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, it’s how you learn.”
Her role models are the late Dale Wilkinson who was a great horseman and her daughter who has coached three national championship teams.
Findlay is very comfortable to her, “has a bit of everything and draws people back.” See More
