Married for the past ten years to Rebecca, Doug has three children ages 12, 8, and 6. He is the soccer coach for the two younger ones. He manages to sleep from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. when he gets up to head to the station.
He credits two professors with his success, the late Steve Beck and the late Jim Greenwood who advised and nurtured him at the U of F. His mentor in Delphos, Bob Ulm, who is legally blind but is a powerhouse, set the bar for excellence that Doug tries to achieve.
