Gary and Eloise Knox
Gary and Eloise Knox are on a “mission” to serve others and have made it a major part of their life. Whether it is a church mission or working for Habitat for Humanity they are constantly looking for ways to serve God and their fellow men.
Gary graduated from Tri-State in Indiana with a Business Administration degree and went to work for Union Carbide. He retired from there in 2001 and he enjoys his free time by being a leader to numerous trips to Honduras to teach bible school. He also goes regularly to Kentucky to help the upkeep and maintenance of the Kentucky Mountain Bible School. He is the international President of Men with Vision which help sponsor and oversee various mission trips throughout the world. He is also very active in Habitat for Humanity and Backyard Missions locally.
Eloise worked as the church secretary for The West Independence Church for 26 and 1/2 years. Since then she works at Wal-Mart in the bakery . She is also very active in the mission field and has gone with Gary to Honduras numerous times. She first took her daughter to Honduras in 1987 and the daughter later became a missionary living in Honduras with her husband.
This busy couple will head to Honduras Monday for 10 days with 28 people , of which 17 are youth 16-18 years of age. Then in September they head to a woman’s retreat in Juneau, Alaska.
Eloise’s scripture she loves is Joshua 24:15, “As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.”
Gary and Eloise have two sons and a daughter and eight grandchildren. Gary’s quote is to ,”Flop like a mop!” or in other words be flexible as things are always changing.
