Shannon Roof
We continued to be impressed with the quality of human beings we meet that are students at the University of Findlay.
Shannon Roof is an amazing young woman to talk with. Her day starts at 5 a.m. riding and ends when her shift at the Wine Merchant is over at 10 p.m. She is a senior in Marketing and taking 18 credit hours. This is in addition to her just earning her real estate license, riding for the English Equestrian team and working for the Wine Merchant. She is also doing an internship for Hutchison Fine Furniture four days a week.
She spends time each summer volunteering for Challenge Champion, an equestrian assisted therapy program.
Shannon is from Ottowa-Glandorf and spent two years in Savannah, Georgia studying before returning to Northwest Ohio and the University.
She loves to ride her horse Prince, a seven year old retired race horse, who she is training to jump. She has been riding since she was six years old. She competes on the English Equestrian team for the University.
She played volleyball in high school and continues to play sand and indoor competitive volleyball in adult leagues here in Findlay.
Her role model is her sister Theresa who is a vet, expecting her first child and is very dedicated and persistent. Shannon also has a younger brother Joe.
Her verse of strength is Proverbs 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” She is blossoming and “growing into whom I want to be.”
