Grace Dickmann
Her mother calls her “Our amazing Grace “and it’s easy to see why. We met Grace Dickmann at a recent Hancock Youth Leadership event and were so impressed we wanted to know more about her. A very articulate, polite young woman she is also one of the busiest we have met, especially where it relates to music. She is a junior at Findlay High School where she plays the piccolo in the marching band, the flute in orchestra, steel drums in Pantasia and sings and dances her way across stage in FFE.
She is a member of an elite group of county youth who are learning leadership skills. She had to write several essays and go through a selection process to become part of the 2015 Hancock Youth Leadership Group. They have attended special events highlighting farmers, health and human services and arts and media as part of their learning about the county.
Grace loves scrapbooking and hanging out with a group of “wonderful friends”. She is active with the Gateway church and spent some time on a youth group trip to the Dominican Republic where she was able to use some of her fours years of Spanish while setting up a bible school there.
Her goals are to be a music teacher or a missionary and is narrowing down her choices for college.
Grace and her family moved here five years ago after a three year stint in Canada. She shares her home with mom, Annie, dad, Bob, a younger brother and her dog, Aspen.
Grace has a close friend who she looks to as a role model. “Kelly Coleman is compassionate, intelligent and keeps me on track.”
Grace lives by motto:, “Be happy, inspire others and be inspired.”
