Megan Hall
Upon graduation she accepted a position at the private school, Center for Autism and Dyslexia in Lima. After four years she transferred to the Findlay campus and continued teach art to upper elementary age students. She loved it and dove into special needs. “Art is a passion, a tool to gain trust and allows student to come alive in their art.”
From there she joined Awakening Minds Art as an instructor and found her niche. After five years she was promoted to Program Director in July of 2015. Megan oversees, plans and coordinates all private and public events. This includes visiting 15 nursing homes using painting as a therapy for especially those with memory issues or dementia as it helps them reconnect with life.
Megan also has 20 students of her own she sees on a weekly or monthly basis. “I want to bring art to whomever wants to partake. It is more than just a job.”
When not painting and directing she still hits the golf course, loves drawing with pencil and water color pencils, sculpting clay and one day wants to create her own Claymation film.
She has two dogs, Harriet and Hanley. She travels home to spend time with her family in Ney as often as possible. Her parents Randi and Virgil, are the driving force behind her success as they “taught me to be compassionate, have a strong work ethic and to give back to others.
Her closing quote sums up her philosophy of life. “Try to take time each day to appreciate life and those around you. “
