We met an amazing young man at Awakening Minds who is an artist, an ice skater, a Special Olympian and a wonderful brother.

Trevor Mahler is ten years old and is the middle sibling with three brothers and five sisters. He was born with Down’s Syndrome but he has not allowed this to slow him down in life. He is in the 2nd grade where he reads, writes, does some spelling and math. He is a 8th year… Gliding Star ice skater, an artist who has sold his artwork at a recent auction and plays basketball, softball, runs track and swims.

He loves superheroes especially the Flash and Batman. He spends lots of time watching movies and playing on his trampoline. He has two cats named Charlie and Max.

His parents Christi and Patrick state, “Trevor constantly surprises us with his accomplishments. We have learned to not use the word CAN’T at our house where Trevor is concerned.”
He is described as “very caring, a good friend and a good brother. He has the ability to bring the best out of people. He is the source of lots of entertainment as he is a silly comedian.

The family follows the verse Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
