Eric Siebeneck
Eric Siebeneck is new to town and the artist world of Findlay but he is not new to the artistic world at large. He lists his credits with the Star Wars franchise as he has had pictures and patches featured five times in the Star Wars Insiders magazine. He has worked with the 501st Legion designing R2-KT patches for Make-a-wish foundation. Eric has also designed patches for Toys for Tots, St. Jude’s and other charitable organizations.
Walking Dead fans will recognize his work …as he was responsible for all posters, DVD covers, t-shirts and flyers for the “Walkers Among Us” documentary filmed by Chris Macht. He is a member of the Blanchard River Art Guild and recently joined the Findlay Art League.
He is very skilled at acrylic oil paintings but ventures into all venues of art as the mood hits him. “I find things I like, or inspired by music, life events or emotions and turn them into art.” The angel he is pictured with was inspired by a song titled “Angels Wings” performed by Social Distortion.
A native of Kalida, Eric took art all four years in high school and found his passion there. He went on to earn an Associates Degree in Graphic Design at Terra in Fremont. He moved to Bowling Green and completed a Bachelors in Science degree in Visual Communication in 1998. After 15 years in the graphic design field he was recruited and hired by a local company Pukka where he does graphic design, web design and designs many of the hats they create for customers. One of their biggest customers is the LPGA
He married his wife Jen in 1999. They have two daughters ages 13 and 10 who are in the 5th and 7th grade. They are adding a miniature Snauzer to their family in a couple of weeks. Their home is very comfortably decorated with several pieces of Eric’s work accenting the décor. They moved to Findlay for several reasons: proximity to work, good schools, a larger market and a community with a strong art appreciation. They are members of Stonebridge church.
Eric lists George Lucas as a role model who he credits with teaching him to “Be original, unique. Be yourself.” Lucas taught by example to be “kid minded, a day dreamer and use art to escape in to another world.”
Welcome to Findlay.
